Activity Information :

Before starting to cook, the chef will walk you through the ingredients so you can get to know the flavours and techniques you will explore during the course. This gives you a chance to get to know your food before you start using it. Dishes include nam prik ong (a local Thai sauce that is similar to a bolognese), chicken coconut soup and the classic pad thai but you can choose what you like from and extensive list. At Cotton Hut, the chef focuses on the food itself, and not specific measurements which can often take away from becoming a good chef by knowing the food rather than following a recipe book. It’s almost like cooking at home with a talented uncle who guides you through the dishes with ease without focusing too much on technicalities. The course is great for those who enjoy cooking but are not interested in a structured menu and instructions to follow. The trip also included transport to and from the cooking school which was very convenient.

Cotton Hut has been a restaurant and cafe for over five years, and are now focusing on teaching keen visitors how to cook the food they are so well known for. The chef has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, in kitchens both Thailand and overseas.
